The Kinesis Freestyle keyboard, available from Keyboard Specialists Ltd (KBS), has a very unique ergonomic design, supporting typists with posture when consistently typing for prolonged periods of time.
The Kinesis keyboard allows wrists and hands to be in a comfortable and natural typing position to minimise the risk of developing future complaints such as Repetitive Strain Injury (RSI).
Reducing arm twisting, the Kinesis keyboard differentiates itself from other split keyboards on the market, by allowing both sides of the keyboard to be separated, ensuring this design is completely user friendly.
Out of the box, both sides are connected together by a pivot, but disconnecting this pivot allows up to 9 inches of separation. This flexibility caters for all individuals and their unique needs, by enabling the keyboard modules to be positioned where needed depending on the user's size.
Kinesis not only helps with forearm twisting but also supplies a better layout for comfortable wrist posture. Most traditional keyboards have a 10-degree positive slope from the front to the back of the keyboard, however, Kinesis has a 0-degree slope to reduce wrist extension.
